When designing the packaging, we must also meet the storage conditions and production specifications for food-grade foods. However, when we create and conceive packaging design works, we should see the other side of it. The emotional satisfaction that the product brings to the buyer, because we keep pets, the feeding process is actually a process of seeking comfort and silence in the heart, and also a process of communicating with close partners. Therefore, we must reflect these emotional attributes of the product in the packaging. It is not only to satisfy the pet's happiness, but also to express the pet owner's emotional sustenance to the pet.

2. Think about who is buying this product and who is using it?

Pet food packaging design has something in common with baby food packaging design, because they both need to meet two roles-mother and baby, pet owner and pet. One of them is the buyer and the other is the user, which requires our designers to make correct judgments about the products you produce. What kind of value system does the brand want to convey? What is the logic of the value system? Who is the main goal of conveying and designing the message?

3. Determine the goal of packaging information communication

Years of design experience tells us that young people born in the 80 s to 90 s occupy the mainstream of China's pet owners, accounting for more than 75% of the total. The consumer population is young and has a high cultural level. Pet food packaging design should be close to them, find their living environment, and do more with less. In terms of packaging design, the packaging copy information should be written from the perspective of pet consumption. What kind of pet needs, what kind of products are more in line with the needs of pet health and physical growth, because it is the real user. The visual expression of the picture should be designed from the perspective of the pet owner. What pet owners want to see and what kind of expression can convey these contents more intuitively, because they are the interpreters of product information and the buyers of products. Based on the above analysis, we can determine the goal of information transmission of pet food packaging design.
